AtemReich: Children's home in Munich - Projects
Munich, February 8 - On Wednesday, February 27, the children of the children`s home AtemReich are very happy, as the Regine Sixt Children`s Aid Association donates a whole room furniture for the new home AtemReich.
Cause was the birthday of Sunsanne Lanz who decided to waive the presents on her birthday party and to ask her guests instead to make a donation in favour of the Regine Sixt Children`s Aid Association, which which supports child projects worldwide.
It was an easy decision for the Regine Sixt Children`s Aid Association to support AtemReich, as the children are taken care of comprehensively, medical/care aspects are connected with pedagogic requirement and the children are offered an appropriate home. Children who have to be given extra oxygen, some during the night, some at noon and some constantly, live there. Things that are part of everyday life for healthy children are an exceptional experience for these children. Running and crawling around light-hearted, feeling grass beneath their feet, an excursion to the lakeside: the respirator is an essential companion. In the children`s home „Atemreich“, which opened in April this year, the children are supposed to have a nearly normal life, despite their illness.
The birtday guests generously donated € 11,000,- so that „Atemreich“ was able to furnish a whole room. First if you have a look into the room of each little inhabitant you will see an oxygen tank and other medical equipment. „The children are supposed to feel well. Although medical technique is necessary for this, it doesn`t take the centre stage.“ Felicitas Hanne, the director of Atemreich, highlights.
Susanne Lanz and Regine Sixt ceremonially handed over of the cheque to Miss Hanne, the director and Beatrice Princess of Bavaria, the patron of the children`s home.
Regine Sixt: „With each breath the children take they´re gathering life. I´m glad that the children here may grow up without worries and may be a family. I want to thank everybody who supported these children with all my heart.“
